The car spent time in New Hampshire, Maryland, and Pennsylvania prior to its acquisition in September 2020 by the current owner.
Drawing styling inspiration from the Chevrolet Advance Design family of trucks, the SSR was built on a modified version of the GMT360 platform shared with the contemporary TrailBlazer SUV. This example is finished in Redline Red and is equipped with a power-operated retractable hardtop, a removable hardshell cargo cover, fog lights, integrated running boards, and a dual-outlet exhaust system.
Staggered-diameter wheels measure 19″ up front and 20″ out back and wear an optional chrome finish, and the wheels are mounted with Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel disc brakes, and the vehicle is equipped with independent front suspension with a five-link setup out back along with front and rear stabilizer bars.
The two-place cab features Ebony leather upholstery on the heated and power-adjustable seats, which are contrasted by body-color treatments on the upper doors, rear bulkhead, and center armrest. Equipment includes a stereo with in-dash six-disc CD changer, a Bose premium sound system, an auxiliary gauge package at the front of the center console, and a wind deflector affixed between the roll hoops.
The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer, along with gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. Just 1,700 miles are shown on the digital odometer.
The 6.0-liter LS2 V8 was factory rated at 390 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission with a Torsen limited-slip differential with a 3.73:1 gear ratio.
