This 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S is powered by a refurbished 4.0-liter flat-six mated to a six-speed manual transaxle and a rear-wheel-drive conversion kit. Factory equipment includes xenon headlights, a Bose premium sound system, automatic climate control, navigation, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. The car was first registered in Ohio and relocated to California in 2006 where the seller acquired it in 2009.
The 996 C4S featured Turbo-style bumpers and widened rear bodywork compared to the contemporary Carrera model. This example is finished in Seal Gray Metallic with Carrera 4.0 decals and features a power-operated sunroof, an active rear spoiler, and power-adjustable side mirrors. The Carfax report lists “minor damage” to the front in 2020. The seller notes that paint work was completed in 2020 on the front bumper and passenger’s mirror cover.
Staggered-width 18″ Turbo Twist alloy wheels wear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires with date codes from 2019 and 2020. The suspension has been modified with Tarett Engineering strut mounts and camber plates, Bilstein PSS-10 adjustable coilovers, GT3 adjustable lower control arms, and GMG adjustable toe links. Stopping power is provided by red Porsche-branded calipers with StopTech piston retrofit kits, Pagid Yellow brake pads, GiroDisc slotted brake rotors up front and stock cross-drilled rotors in the rear. ECS Tuning brake cooling ducts are also said to have been installed. An additional set of 18″ Turbo Twist wheels showing damage and wearing worn 245/40 and 315/30 Nitto NT1 tires is included in the sale.
The cabin features GT2 carbon-fiber seats upholstered in black leather with a matching dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes a GMG World Challenge roll bar with harness mounts, five-point Schroth Profi harnesses, a Numeric Racing short-throw shifter with Porsche Motorsport shift cables and linkage, Rennline aluminum pedals and foot rests, a Brey-Krause billet fire extinguisher mount, automatic climate control, a Coolshirt system, and Bose premium audio. The seller states that the airbag warning light is illuminated due to the seat retrofit and that the passenger side window does not automatically lower when the door is opened.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel features a yellow centering stripe and fronts a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 105k miles.
The factory 3.6-liter flat-six was refurbished and enlarged to 4.0-liters in 2017 by 911 Design in Montclair, California, and subsequently overhauled in 2018. Parts reportedly include JE pistons, a deep sump by 911 Design, a Porsche Motorsport air-oil separator, a centrally mounted radiator, RSS Tarmac Series engine mounts, an LN Engineering IMS bearing retrofit, and a Fabspeed Competition cold-air intake. Recent maintenance is said to have included replacement of the catalytic converters and oxygen sensors in 2020 along with an oil change and a brake fluid flush in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent through a remanufactured six-speed manual transaxle and on to the rear wheels through a rear-wheel-drive conversion by BRRacing.
The window sticker lists standard equipment and options along with a total price of $86,920.
