This 2000 Acura NSX-T was reportedly modified by Comptech USA and ROUSH Performance for use as a pace car in Indy Racing League events. Modifications are said to include an increase in displacement of the VTEC V6 to 3.4 liters as well as installation of an AUTOTECH roll bar, an ATL fuel cell, Simpson racing harnesses, magnesium BBS wheels, Eibach springs, Brembo calipers, and Comptech exhaust system with headers. The car is finished in blue over black leather, and retained factory equipment includes a six-speed manual transaxle, a removable roof panel, a limited-slip differential, cruise control, air conditioning, automatic climate control, and power-adjustable seats.
The car was delivered from the factory in metallic blue, and exterior details include a removable roof panel, an integrated rear spoiler, pop-up headlights, power mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets. The car was disassembled and repainted in 2021 by Front Range Auto Group in Englewood, Colorado, and work totaled $65k and included the following:
- Repairing and repainting the bumpers
- Repainting the front air dam
- Repairing the front and rear valances
- Replacing the headlight lenses
- Repairing and repainting the front trunk lid
- Repairing and repainting all four fenders
- Repairing and repainting the roof panel
- Replacing the windshield weather stripping
- Repairing and refinishing the rocker moldings
- Repairing and repainting the doors and mirror assemblies
- Repainting the side air-intake scoops
Multipiece 18″ BBS wheels with magnesium faces are mounted with Achilles ATR Sport tires measuring 215/45 up front and 275/35 out back. Suspension modifications installed by Comptech are said to include Eibach springs along with a triangulated billet rear strut bar and aftermarket toe links, bushings, and sway bars, and Brembo calipers are paired with cross-drilled rotors and stainless-steel brake hoses.
The cockpit features power-adjustable bucket seats trimmed in black leather, and later also covers the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include air conditioning, automatic climate control, and cruise control, while modifications include a stereo block-off plate, a black AUTOTECH roll bar, and Simpson five-point racing harnesses.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 188-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows under 24k miles.
The C32A V6 is said to have received an increase in displacement to 3.4 liters during the modification process, and additional modifications include an engine software tuning chip, a UNI air-intake system, and a lightweight flywheel. During current ownership the ATL fuel cell was replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential, and the transaxle was also reportedly modified and the clutch components were replaced in 2008 when the car had 20k miles. Additional equipment includes a Comptech exhaust system with tubular headers.
