This Dodge Viper is one of 53 RT/10 models that were finished in Viper Blue with dual white stripes over black leather for the 1997 model year, and it is powered by an 8.0-liter V10 paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, polished 17″ wheels, a removable roof panel, air conditioning, and an Alpine CD stereo. The car was first registered in Colorado and remained in the state until January 2010 when it was acquired by the seller who relocated it to Wisconsin.
The car is finished in Viper Blue with dual white stripes and features fog lights, a removable roof panel and rear window, and twin central exhaust outlets. The front bumper cover was refinished in 2016 to rectify scuffs, while a crack in the hardtop was repaired in March 2021 along with a repaint of the panel.
Polished 17″ wheels are mounted with 275/40 and 335/35 Michelin Pilot SX MXX3 tires that show date codes from 2000 and 2001. The car is equipped with rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel independent suspension, and vented disc brakes.
The cabin features seating upholstered in black leather with blue accents on the steering wheel, shift knob, and handbrake lever. Amenities include remote keyless entry, power windows, adjustable pedals, air conditioning, and an Alpine CD stereo. The hardtop’s headliner is sagging.
Instrumentation consists of a 180-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline along with centrally mounted gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 15k miles.
The 8.0-liter V10 was rated at 450 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque when new. An oxygen sensor was replaced in 2015 and an oil change was performed in August 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The window sticker shows initial delivery to Fireside Dodge of Modesto, California as well as factory colors and equipment and an original MSRP of $68,700. Manufacturer’s literature and service records from current ownership are also included in the sale along with a 2004 publication of the Viper Buyer’s Guide, which featured the car in a two-page spread.
