This 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera is a Canadian-market example that was imported to the US in the early 2000s and was acquired by the seller in California in 2008. The car is finished in Guards Red over black leather and powered by a 3.6-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 17″ RUF wheels, a sunroof, heated front sport seats, and an aftermarket audio system. Work under current ownership has included replacement of the brakes and clutch assembly as well as an overhaul of the engine with a replacement timing chain, guides, valves, springs, and seals.
The car is finished in Guards Red (L80K) and features front fog lights, headlight washers, a sunroof, a rear window wiper, and a Turbo-style rear spoiler. There is rust at the bottom of the right-side A-pillar, the left fog light lens is cracked, the windshield washer jets do not work, and the left fender was repainted by a British Columbia-based body shop under previous ownership.
Five-spoke 17″ RUF wheels wear 215/45 Fuzion ZRi tires up front and 255/40 Dunlop SP Sport tires out back, and the rear tires need to be replaced. The brake pads and rotors were changed in 2010. The front struts are said to have been adjusted to their lowest setting and one of the strut adjustments is stripped.
The cabin features power-adjustable and heated front sport seats trimmed in black leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Additional equipment includes automatic climate control, drilled aluminum pedal covers, and an aftermarket Sony CD stereo with two trunk-mounted Alpine amplifiers. The cruise control system module was removed during the installation of the amplifiers according to the seller.
A leather-wrapped airbag steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 180-mph speedometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges. A replacement speedometer and odometer were installed under previous ownership, and the Carfax report notes a potential odometer rollback in January 2001. The six-digit odometer shows under 46k miles.
The air-cooled 3.6L flat-six was overhauled in 2010, at which time the valves, springs, seals, and timing chain and guides are said to have been replaced. The seller notes an oil leak and states that an oil change was performed in 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle that was fitted with a new clutch assembly in 2010.
The car is supplied with manufacturer’s literature, a tool kit, a receipt for the 2010 engine work, and a replacement fog lamp.
