This 1983 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole is finished in red over black leather and powered by a fuel-injected 2.9L 32-valve V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes an aftermarket exhaust, a removable targa roof panel, metric 390mm TRX wheels, a Momo steering wheel, air conditioning, and a Sony CD stereo with an auxiliary input. The car was first registered in New York and later spent time in New Jersey, Maryland, and Texas before being acquired by the seller in September 2020. A timing belt service was carried out in 2020, and work by the seller has reportedly included replacement of the rear brake calipers, fuel injectors, and several ignition components.
The Pininfarina-designed body is finished in red and features Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, a removable black roof panel, a black roof spoiler, retractable headlights, and quad polished exhaust outlets.
Metric 390mm alloy wheels wear 220/55 Michelin TRX tires, and a full-size spare is located in the front trunk compartment. The rear brake calipers were reportedly replaced in preparation for the sale.
The cabin features seats trimmed in black leather with matching door panels , carpets, and Ferrari-logo floor mats. Features include a gated shifter, air conditioning, power windows, and a Sony CD stereo with an auxiliary input. A fire extinguisher is mounted in the passenger footwell. The headlight switch and window switch starter relay have reportedly been repaired.
The leather-wrapped Momo steering wheel frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,700-rpm redline, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 42k miles.
The mid-mounted transverse 2.9-liter V8 features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and four valves per cylinder, and was factory rated at 230 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque when new. A service in July 2020 included replacement of the valve cover gaskets, cam belts and seals, timing belts, and fuel filter as well rebuilding of the water pump. The Digiplex Ignition control units were reportedly replaced within the last year along with the fusebox, ignition coils, spark plugs, crankshaft position sensors, and all eight fuel injectors. A carbon-fiber inlet tube and an aftermarket stainless-steel exhaust were installed under prior ownership, and the smog pump, air injection tubes, and catalytic converter have been removed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential.
The car is supplied with an owner’s manual, a toolkit, and a battery tender.
