This 1974 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 is finished in green over black vinyl and powered by a 3.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a white-painted roof, 15” steel wheels, manually-locking front hubs, an aftermarket rear bumper, a Tuffy front center console, inward-facing rear jump seats, and a Bluetooth-capable JVC CD stereo.
The truck has been refinished in green and features a white-painted roof, a black front grille and rear plastic fender flares, chrome mirrors, front tow hooks, and a tubular rear bumper.
Black-painted 15″ steel wheels wear 31×10.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires, and a spare wheel and tire are mounted on a swing-out carrier at the rear. Manually-locking Warn hubs are fitted up front, and braking is handled by drums all around. The seller reports that the shocks have been recently replaced, and that the swing-out carrier rattles despite replacement of the hinge bushings and pad.
The cabin features black vinyl bucket seats up front as well as inward-facing jump seats in the rear cargo area. Textured spray-on liner covers the floors and headliner, and equipment includes a dash pad cover, a Tuffy locking center console, a Hurst shift knob on the transfer case lever, hand-crank windows, and a Bluetooth-capable JVC CD stereo connected to 9″ weather-resistant aftermarket speakers. Noted flaws include an intermittently functioning stereo, a missing passenger-side plastic door handle, and seals on the vent windows that pinch upon closure.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 16k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.9-liter F inline-six was serviced in June 2020, at which time the engine oil and coolant were changed, low-altitude carburetor jets were installed, and the cooling fan and engine mounts were replaced along with the gaskets for the valve cover, oil pan, timing cover, and pushrod cover.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case, both of which were re-sealed in June 2020.
The truck is supplied with shop manuals, parts manuals, service records for work completed under current ownership.
