This 1973 BMW 3.0CS was sold new in North Carolina and remained there until the mid-2000s. It was acquired by the seller in 2018 after time in spent in Florida, and subsequent work included refurbishment of the brakes and suspension as well as converting the air conditioning to R134a refrigerant and miscellaneous cosmetic and mechanical refreshment. The car is finished in metallic blue over blue leather and is powered by a 3.0-liter M30 inline-six linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes 14″ alloy wheels, power windows, air conditioning, and a push-button AM/FM radio.
The car is finished in metallic blue, and exterior features include dual side mirrors, bright window trim, and chrome-finished bumpers with rubber impact strips.
The refinished 14″ alloy wheels wear bright hub caps and 195/70 Michelin Defender tires. Stopping power is provided by discs at all four corners, which were overhauled with a rebuilt master cylinder, booster, and calipers under current ownership. The shocks have also been replaced within the past five years.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and contoured rear seats trimmed in blue leather. Interior appointments include front seat head restraints, a heated rear window, air conditioning, electric windows, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The door panels and door check straps were replaced and the air conditioning was converted to R134a refrigerant under current ownership.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature.
The 3.0-liter M30 inline-six is equipped with dual Solex carburetors. Work under current ownership has included recoring the radiator and rebuilding the carburetors as well as replacement of the radiator hoses, valve cover gasket, fuel pump, and spark plugs.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The transmission is said to have been serviced and the exhaust hangers replaced.
