This 1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible is finished in white over brown vinyl and powered by a replacement 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Features include a white convertible top, chrome bumpers and trim, 15″ steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The car was acquired by the seller and her husband out of Arizona in 2019, and subsequent work has reportedly included a valve adjustment, installation of PerTronix ignition, servicing of the brakes and suspension, and replacement of the tires, carburetor, and fuel lines along with several interior trim pieces.
The body was repainted from yellow to white under previous ownership, and the yellow paint remains visible in the trunk and under the dashboard. Exterior features include a white convertible top, dual side mirrors, and chrome bumpers and trim. Accident damage that occurred under prior ownership is said to have resulted in a crease in the rear apron as well as replacement of the rear decklid and bumper.
Silver powder-coated 15″ steel wheels with chrome hubcaps wear Americus Touring Plus R201 tires. The ball joints, tie rod ends, shocks, steering coupler, and steering dampener were reportedly replaced under current ownership along with the front brake pads and rotors, rear brake shoes, brake master cylinder, brake lines, and rear brake slave cylinders.
The cabin features seats trimmed in brown vinyl with matching carpets and door panels. Equipment includes lap belts, a push-button AM/FM radio, and a lockable glove box. The upper dash pad, lower knee pad, and wood-look dash paneling have reportedly been replaced since 2019 along with the door latch receivers, floor mats, front seat skins, and dash insignia.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 90-mph speedometer flanked by a fuel gauge and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 77k miles.
The replacement dual-port 1.6-liter flat-four was installed under previous ownership and features an alternator and a “dog house” fan shroud. Work since 2019 has reportedly included a valve adjustment, installation of PerTronix electronic ignition, an oil change, and replacement of the carburetor, starter, fuel lines, and fan belt.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The gearbox oil has been changed under current ownership and the seller notes that the transmission is noisy.
