A two-spoke steering wheel with a Wolfsburg-crest horn button frames a VDO 80-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows 23k miles.
The replacement 1,600cc flat-four is fitted with a single carburetor that was installed in June 2021. Work performed in 2018 included replacement of the fuel pump and gaskets, oil pressure switch, rear main seal, and distributor O-ring.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle that was rebuilt in 2018.
