This 1956 Ford Thunderbird was acquired by the seller in 1997 and has been refinished in red over a two-tone red and white interior. Power comes from a 312ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and other equipment includes a white soft top, a Continental kit, steel wheels with covers, engine-turned interior trim, a tachometer, and a digital cassette stereo. The car was stored for a period of time, after which the seller had the carburetor rebuilt and the fuel tank and fuel lines replaced.
The car was delivered new in Fiesta Red (K) and has been refinished. Features include chrome-finished bumpers and trim.
Red-finished wheels wear chrome covers with red center crests and are mounted with whitewall tires. A Continental kit housing a spare is mounted at the rear.
The interior features a bench seat with two-tone red and white upholstery, and the door panels maintain the color scheme. Engine-turned trim accents the dashboard as well as the door-panel inserts, while red carpeting covers the floors. A digital cassette player is mounted in the factory location.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames instrumentation that includes a 150-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer to the left of the steering wheel, an analog clock on the opposite side, and inset auxiliary gauges in the main cluster. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 1,500 miles, about 350 of which have been added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The 312ci Y-block V8 is said to have been refreshed after being removed from storage by rebuilding the carburetor and replacing the fuel tank as well as the fuel lines.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
