This 1986 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 spent time in California and later relocated to Nevada following the acquisition by the seller in December 2014. Work performed in 2007 by TLC of Van Nuys, California included an overhaul of the air-conditioning system, repair of the front seats, installation of 16″ steel wheels, aftermarket bumpers, Hella H4 headlights, PIAA fog lights, and Old Man Emu suspension components, rebuilds of the five-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case, and fitting a rejetted carburetor, a tubular header, and a performance exhaust system to the 4.2-liter inline-six. The truck is also equipped with an Alpine stereo, Aisin manually locking hubs, tinted windows, and auxiliary gauges.
The truck is finished in Beige Metallic (4E8) and the hood was refinished and the fenders were repaired in 2007 before 3M paint protection film was applied to the front bodywork. Features include an ARB front bull bar, a Warn 8000-Series winch, Hella H4 headlights with washers, driving lights, mud flaps, a split tailgate, and a Kaymar rear bumper with an integrated swing-away tire carrier and a work light.
Steel 16″ wheels are mounted with 285/75 BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires. Aisin manually locking hubs are fitted up front, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The braking system was overhauled in 2007 by TLC, at which point Old Man Emu suspension components and steering stabilizer were installed.
The cabin features seats trimmed in brown vinyl with striped tan cloth inserts, matching door panels, and brown carpeting. Equipment includes hand-crank windows, Tuffy center console lockbox with cup holders front and rear, and an Alpine CD stereo. The front seats were repaired in 2007, and the air-conditioning system was overhauled and converted to R-134a refrigerant.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 4k-rpm redline, an 85-mph speedometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 221k miles.
The 4.2-liter 2F inline-six was factory rated at 135 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque when new. Work performed by TLC in 2007 included replacement of vacuum hoses and gaskets as well as installation of a rejetted carburetor and a Downey header. An oil change service was performed in September 2021.
Power is sent to the rear of all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The transmission and transfer case were overhauled in 2007, and the transfer case seals were replaced in 2017. A long-range fuel tank has also been installed, and rust is visible on the underside hardware and components.
Service records, accessories, and repair manuals are included in the sale.
