This 1981 Porsche 911SC is a red-over-black coupe that is powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car is equipped with a power-sliding steel sunroof, a power antenna, and 16″ Fuchs wheels, and modifications performed during previous ownership include installation a front strut tower brace, an aftermarket front spoiler, a whale-tail rear spoiler, a Dansk sport muffler, an MSD ignition system, a MOMO steering wheel, a Pioneer CD stereo, European-specification headlights, and Recaro SR3 front seats. The car was first delivered to North Lake Porsche/Audi of Tucker, Georgia, and it was acquired by the seller in 2018.
The body was reportedly refinished in its factory shade of Guards Red in 2004. Exterior features include an aftermarket front spoiler, a ‘whale tail’ rear spoiler, a power-sliding steel sunroof, a power antenna, and European-specification H4 headlights.
Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels with black-finished centers are wrapped in 205/55 front and 225/50 rear Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners, and a front strut tower X-brace and Bilstein rear shock absorbers are fitted.
The cabin features Recaro SR3 seats upholstered in black cloth up front along with black trim on the dashboard, door panels, and rear seats. Features include a Pioneer CD stereo, Coco floor mats, and power windows.
The MOMO Cobra steering wheel has scuffs on the leather-wrapped rim and frames a five-dial instrument cluster that features a centrally mounted tachometer, a 180-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 51k miles.
The 3.0-liter flat-six was fitted with MSD ignition components, rebuilt cylinder heads, and replacement spark plugs, piston rings, timing chains, head studs, camshaft oil lines, valve covers, and valve guides and springs by Farmer’s Automotive of Greenfield, Indiana in September 2008. The fan belt was changed and the exhaust system received replacement stainless-steel heat exchangers, a Dansk sport muffler, and replacement exhaust studs in June 2016.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The clutch disc was changed, the shift lever was repaired, and the transaxle was rebuilt with replacement shift sleeves and synchro rings in September 2008.
The included window sticker lists original delivery to North Lake Porsche/Audi of Tucker, Georgia as well as factory equipment, colors, and a total price of $33,335.
A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity is also included in the sale.
The removed factory front seats are included in the sale.
